Watchmen Reviews - Have YOU Seen it? Should I?
Lots of commercials on NBC tonight for The Watchmen. I've had a copy of the comic book for months - still haven't read it - but, I am considering going to see the movie. Give me the dealio and let me know if you think it's worth it...leave comments on this post with your thoughts. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteSaw the midnight showing. Visuals were good, but I'm 50/50 on it. Loved the beginning, I started to lose my enthusiasm about 1/3 of the way in. It was just okay for me.
ReplyDeleteWatchmen (7/10): Too long, bad soundtrack, and tacky acting. Enjoyed the changes. Not terrible, but lacking. Felt like music video, sad. Watchmen (maybe 6/10), will need to watch again. At least the text spoke for itself. Alan Moore knows how to write dense material.

ReplyDeleteThanks for all the feedback. I think I will read the book first and then watch the film on DVD later this year. Not sure I want to spend the $12+ on something that is not a 10/10. We're in hard economic times now you know ;)
ReplyDeleteI thought they did a brilliant job of translating the source material into film. The actors really brought the characters to life. I think the changes made sense, and didn't detract from the story at all. Definitely a must see.

ReplyDeleteMovie was ok. They cut out a lot of character development/backstory. Definitely read the graphic novel, which is EPIC.
